Whoever listened to Dwight's radio show on June 9th and 10th could hear him play songs from Dutch singer Caro Emerald because he really liked her first album and wanted to share it with his listeners. Caro recently posted this on Facebook and Twitter because she loved it that Dwight loved and played her songs. The Dutch newspaper 'de Telegraaf' discovered her Facebook entry and posted the news on their website.
Yesterday Michael Savage returned to his microphone so Dwight only filled in for him wednesday the 14th. and didn't have to fill in for thursday and friday.

You probably read it in all kinds of (internet) articles: speculations about the opinions of the original actors from the series about the A-team
movie. Some even stated that Dwight refused to give any comment. Dwight just hasn't given his opinion yet because he first wanted to SEE the film before sharing his opinion about it. He has seen it now and this is his official statement that he wants to share with you through his fansite:
I am too close to the A-TEAM TV series to consider myself objective or to write a proper critique, so I ask you to take into consideration that I loved working on the show, and no matter how heartbreaking I found working on it at times, I am indebted to Stephen Cannell and Frank Lupo who both gave me a life changing opportunity. The Film ,THE A-TEAM , is about twenty light years away from the series. Over and over again I heard from a variety of sources, that the movie would be "gritty" ,"real", "not corny", "big" ,"violent" , and "people would get killed "
It appears that these descriptors were accurate and had the intended effect on THE A-TEAM. The film pays homage to the series while it eschews its essential working premise: a band of capable military brothers for hire determined to save underdog and usually poor civilians from scum. But wait! The point is... this is not the TV series. It's a well shot wave of action, with hilarity, modest sex, violence and well played bad guys that you want to see tied up with shrink rap. Brian Bloom, co-writer and central villain clearly got to pen his own lines. Interesting! Check out that car scene! The team characters are sufficiently different and, with so many roles reversed from the original, one could say they are not really derivative, save for their
names.
The exception is the brilliant Sharlto Copley as Murdock. He is faithful to the original, but at the same time is big screen twisted and right at home with the new team. I saw the film with a packed house and the audience applauded, laughed and were all smiles as they filed out of the theater. The only major criticism that I will let slip is the decision by such a creative team not to use Mike Post's great music theme....one of the absolute best..to jump start the film.....The audience would have screamed in delight.

Now our original statement that both Dwight and Dirk are not in the A-team movie is still true but according to a statement by Joe Carnahan in a recent interview he stated that a "stinger" is shown after the movie's credits featuring them. This would mean that the only way you are able to see the original actors is to remain in your seats after the movie has finished. So sit tight, we will try to find out if this really is the case.

We regret to have to inform you that both Dwight and Dirk's cameo roles have been cut out of the movie by 20th. Century Fox. If the cut scenes will be available on the DVD, that will be released at a later time, is probably not sure either.
I usually just post news up here and stay in the background. But as one of the webmasters of Dwights fansite (Claudia) I can't help but making an exception in this case. I personally find this disrespectful behaviour from Fox towards the original actors from the series and towards the fans of the A-team series. I know many fans were looking forward to see Dwight and Dirk in the movie. Sad but true this will not be the case.

Like we informed you earlier "The A-Team: War Stories" comicbooks will come out and it will be a series of one-shots, each one focusing on a different member of the elite special forces team before they became the A-team, written by Chuck Dixon and Erik Burnham with art by Hugo Petrus, Casey Maloney, and others. The comicbook about Murdock will be out in April of this year. Here is the cover of the comicbook. Although Murdock looks like Sharlto the character is actually based on the way Dwight portrayed Murdock in the series. The writers wrote the comicbook with the series in mind, not the upcoming movie and they really enjoyed writing it. The A-team makes it's comic book comeback. IDW Publishing gives fans a taste of excitement to come in two biweekly "A-Team" miniseries starting from March 2010. "The A-Team: War Stories" is a series of one-shots, each one focusing on a different member of the elite special forces team, written by Chuck Dixon and Erik Burnham with art by Hugo Petrus, Casey Maloney, and others. Another miniseries, "The A-Team: Shotgun Wedding," brings the whole team together for a mission written by the movie's director Joe Carnahan and Tom Waltz and illustrated by Stephen Mooney.
Chuck Dixon gives a few hints:"B.A.'s story, quite naturally, deals quite a bit with his...um...aversion to flying,". "Murdock's story is a tale told by him through his own skewed perspective on reality. Both are very funny, with Murdock's story being packed with laugh-out-loud lines." We were told to simply write the characters as we remembered them. And that's what made it fun for Erik and I."
This means that the character of Murdock in the comicbooks will be based on the way how Dwight played Murdock in the series.
We just want to remind you all (because we published this news many weeks ago so it could be that it slipped your mind) that the 37th Annual Annie Awards will take place on Saturday, February 6th. 2010 at UCLA’s Royce Hall, in Los Angeles, California. Dwight is nominated for his role in Chowder, let's hope he will win the award this year.

Does Murdock Get Broken Out of a Mental Asylum?
"Yes ... Sharlto's whole attitude was, 'Murdock's nuts, so I have to be a bit nuts and just go for it,' " he said of Copley as the team's "Howling Mad" pilot. "Sharlto was never lacking for enthusiasm and suggestions ... he's doing this panhandle, Texas twang — it's pretty remarkable."
How Crazy Will Murdock Get?
"We did a scene in Iraq where he's barbecuing steaks for everybody and he's using gunpowder to season it like you would salt and pepper," Carnahan said. "We had rigged everything to blow up and told [Copley], 'Be careful of your eyes.' And he just didn't care, man. He put his head right over there, the smoke's coming up in his face, the fire is in his face!"
Does Murdock Have a Puppet?
In the 1983 classic episode "The Taxicab Wars," Murdock annoyed B.A. with his puppet friend, Socky. Now, fans can look forward to seeing B.A. similarly tortured this time around. "Sharlto did one of those," Carnahan revealed, remembering a Copley improv. "We just gave him a series of props, and he started doing a puppet show for B.A."
German A-team fans informed us that the A-team has inspired a German theater group to write and perform a play about the A-team on February 6th. and 7th. It will be performed in Theater Phalanx in Germany. You can find the theater in the Music Center (Musischen Zentrum)from the Ruhr-Universität at Bochum.

Dwight has been pretty busy as a talk radio host this week on the radio. He has filled in for Laura Ingraham on Tuesday. They lost sync in the last half hour so he couldn't say goodbye to his listeners. He filled in for Rusty Humphries this week and the way things look now he will be filling in for Rusty again on December 30th. timeslot will be from 6 to 9 Pacific time. We have received messages from people that they listened to Dwight as a guest/host on Michael Savage's show but Dwight hasn't appeared on that show as guest/host.

We thought it would be nice to share what Sharlto Copley posted on his facebook about meeting Dwight on the set: 'Recently had the honour and great privilege of meeting the creator of the original Murdock -Dwight Schultz, while he was shooting a cameo performance on the A-Team. I confess to being rather star struck by meeting somebody I consider to be one of the most original and talented actors of his generation. The A-Team was my favourite show as a kid and Dwight's amazing range of characters and voices had a big influence on me. Dwight struck me as a down to earth, genuine and highly intelligent man. He shared his stories about working on the A-Team, his influences in creating Murdock and we had some great conversations on a wide range of topics. After our first lunch I took the plunge and showed him the screen test I had done for my updated version of his iconic character. I was naturally very concerned about what he would think, but thankfully Dwight seemed very excited about Murdock's "rebirth". I am inspired and grateful for the fact that he has since been highly complimentary about my performance and take on the character and will do my best to “carry the torch”. Don Ecker has uploaded another great show that he made with Dwight. Don explained that this episode of UFOs Tonite was recorded at the end of July of 1994 with AeroJet Corporation's Lee Graham and Ron Regehr. Both Ron and Lee worked on the DSP satellite array, which continuiously scan the planet searching for missle launches. The DSP satellites have been in use for decades, and it has been reported that the DSP can detect UFOs.

You might have read earlier that Dwight and Dirk were guests on the the Rusty Humphries show. Because that was a huge success Dwight filled in for a single hour for Monica Crowley on TRN. That again was a great show and therefore Dwight filled in twice for Jerry Doyle (3 hour shows each) last Monday and Tuesday on Talk Radio Network.
Because filling in for Monica Crowley and Jerry Doyle was decided on a very short notice we couldn't post about it on the fansite, there just wasn't enough time to supply the information to you. We frequently get emails from people asking when and where Dwight will be attending conventions this year. So far Dwight hasn't attended any convention this year yet. As soon as we have information about any upcoming convention that he will visit this year we'll of course post it in this section as soon as possible.

On March 12th. Dwight was a guest on the Dennis Miller radio show hosted by Andrew Breitbart. Dwight has recently started to write columns for Big Hollywood from Breitbart and this radio show is affiliated with breitbart. Dwight was joined by Dirk Benedict, so it's an interview with both of them about the A-team and the political atmosphere in Hollywood. We have received questions from people who have asked us why Dwight will not be making shows for PBTRN. The reason for this is that the network owner made schedule changes incompatible with
Dwights present career.

Howling Mad Radio shows will NOT return for PBTRN Therefore there will be no Howling Mad Radio show on March 8th on this station or on any other date as announced previously. Afro Samurai: Resurrection game released

Dwight has not won the Annie Award 2008

Dwight has not won the Annie Award for Voice Acting in an Animated Television Production or Short Form but it already was a real honor he was one of the three voice actors who were nominated for this award. The winner of the award was Ahmed Best and we hereby congratulate him.
Dwight returns with new Howling Mad Radio shows

Dwight will appear with new Howling Mad Radio Shows in a few weeks time on The Patriot Brigade Talk Radio Network™ that was acquired by Joe Thunder on December 10, 2008. Dwight will be making 6 hours of radio each month. The topics that are discussed in his shows are of course mostly about american and world politics. We’ll inform you in time when the first show will be appearing on The Patriot Brigade Talk Radio Network™
Spider-Man Web of Shadows

In October 2008 the psp game Spider-Man Web of Shadows was released both in the USA and Europe. For people who own the game: the voice of Kraven the Hunter was done by Dwight. For people who don't own the game yet, we'v heard from people who do own it that it's a very good and entertaining game to play.

Chowder nominated for an Emmy award!

The cartoonseries Chowder in which Dwight gives Chef Mung Daal a voice, is nominated for an Emmy award in the catagory SHORT-FORMAT ANIMATED PROGRAMS.The particular episode that is nominated is Burple nurples. Let's hope they win! Congrats to Dwight with this nomination!
Dwight and Dirk both will attend Collectormania Midlands

It wasn't clear if Dirk Benedict would attend the Collectormania Midlands Convention because he had first cancelled it but we can now inform you that to Dwights joy his friend Dirk has changed his mind and WILL join Dwight at that convention in England that will be held on the 1st and 2nd of November this year.

Movie Star Trek: First Contact on Veronica tv channel

For people in the Netherlands, Belgium and anyone else who is able to receive the Dutch tvstation Veronica: the movie Star Trek: First Contact will be aired on that station on July 15th at 22.15 hours. For fans of Dwight a must because he plays a small but very fun part in this movie as Lt. Reginald Barclay.

The return of Howling Mad Radio sadly couldn't last long. Due to personal circumstances Dwights producer isn't able to bring out new shows to the public therefore the number of new shows will be limited to the two that have already recently been broadcasted.

Howling Mad Radio is back. Clearly Skewed Entertainment is re-mastering Dwight Schultz new release of Howling Mad Radio which will be released on May 24, 2008 at 12:00 PM Eastern USA. But, you don’t have to wait to hear some small tid-bits of his new program. Clearly Skewed Entertainment is currently creating a teasers page that will allow you to hear small portions of Dwight’s upcoming programs. Collectormania 2008

Dirk Benedict will attend Collectormania in Manchester from November 7th till 9th 2008, conformation of his appearance could be read on his website recently. Because we received questions if Dwight will attend this convention as well we would like to inform you that although Dwight would like to, he is not certain yet if his schedule will allow him to join Dirk in Manchester. Like we said earlier HollowFX is rerunning old Howling Mad Radio shows. Are you curious about HMR but not sure if it's your cup of tea? In the audio section of the fansite you can listen to audio snippets taken from different shows. So you can familiarize yourself with the shows and know what you can expect. After listening to those audio shippets from Dwight (that of course are used by kind permission) we are sure you want to listen to his entire shows! Just try them!

Howling Mad Radio shows from Dwight wil be rerun on the new Hollow FX Streaming Radio Network. You can find that through http://www.hollowfx.com. Don Ecker will return on this station with entire new episodes of Dark Matters. Besides a Howling Mad Radio section our forum also contains a Dark Matters section. In the Dark Matters section on our forum Don is asking you for suggestions for topics for his shows. Post your suggestion on the forum he will read them and who knows he might use the topic you suggested in one of his shows. So hurry to the playground, the fansites forum, and give him some feedback.
